Join us in learning from the best Sommeliers France and Italy have to offer. Our wine tasting evenings are not only stimulating, they are also a great way to have fun with your friends, colleagues, or celebrate an upcoming wedding or event.

During this wine filled evening, we’ll hear an explanation about each region’s distinct wine attributes whilst tasting different varieties of Red, White and Rose. Each wine will also be accompanied by a complimenting dish from the local tradition, so that by the end of the evening you’ll be an expert on anything wine related!

Sommeliers

France – Alexis Caraux – Alexis comes from a strong family tradition of restaurant ownership. He entered the wine business in 2011, after earning the Advanced Diploma of the Wine Spirit Education Trust program. In 2012, Alexis started organizing wine tastings in Paris for visitors from all over the world, to share his passion of wine and help people understand French Wine and its diversity. After hundreds of wine tastings, Alexis is now recognized as French Wine Ambassador, advising wineries and wine industries on how to offer the best experiences for tourists in the different French wine regions. His favourite wines? Definitely Burgundy Pinot Noirs and Vouvray Chenin Blancs from the Loire Valley!

Italy – Marco Lori – Italian Sommelier and Wine Master, Marco Lori was born to work with wine. Literally. Having first harvested grapes at the tender age of six on his father’s small plot of land near the Castelli Romani, Marco has lived his life connected to the vine. While Marco enjoyed drinking his family’s yearly vintage, he became curious at an early age and wanted to investigate better wines. Hungry (or thirsty) for this knowledge, Marco’s first sommelier training in 1994 sparked his passion for wine and set in to motion years of study that recently earned Lori “Italian Executive Wine Master” status recognized by the Worldwide Sommelier Association. After studying Agriculture and having worked for over 30 years in business and technology, Marco’s vast life experience coupled with his exciting working knowledge of vino has all led up to the creation of “Off the Vine” - an exciting new venture in gastro-tourism aimed at cultivating and generating an appreciation and excitement for the world of wine. Marco Lori is currently a freelance writer for a few Italian magazines, “Eating Italy” Food Blog, “The American in Italia” web Magazine as well as consulting with a wide range of companies and organizations in Italy and the United States.
