As a foodie, Greece has to be on your bucket list. With fresh ingredients such as rosemary, lamb and lime, topped off with some passion from the locals, the dishes are a true explosion of flavours. We’re taking you on an exploration of this fresh and healthy Greek cuisine in a very unique farm-to-table experience.

The farm-to-table trip to Greece will give you hands-on experience to organic meals, Greek flavours and traditional ways of cooking. We’ll be staying at an organic agro-tourism farm with the Greek farmers where we will get to cook and live with them and, therefore, experience the authentic Greek way of living.

Discover Mediterranean treasures in the flavourful Greek kitchen, and get to know the ins & outs of the popular farm-to-table concept during this food trip to Greece. You will feel more connected to the Earth and nature as you’ll be getting your high quality daily produce, fresh fruits and vegetables, directly from the garden. A number of exciting activities await us in Greece, including wine tasting in the vineyard and olive oil harvesting and tasting with the locals!

Day 1Introduction to Farm to Table

The first day of our exciting farm to table tour will begin with your arrival to Eumelia where you will be welcomed by a delicious zero-kilometre farm to table dinner prepared by our local chef. Eumelia’s organic vegetables are combined with local delicacies so you’ll get the first introduction to this original and unique culinary experience

Day 2Introduction to olive oil & bread making

The second day of the food trip will kick start with a handmade breakfast of Eumelian specialties, followed by a sustainability tour that will allow us to learn about environmental technology, organic farming methods, and self- sustainability.

After the tour, we will participate in a unique cooking class with the farm chef followed by lunch. Here, you will learn to prepare your very own sourdough bread with locally sourced and milled organic flour.

The cooking session will be followed by an olive oil tasting session where you will learn to distinguish extra virgin olive oil and other varieties of olive oil – a good skill to show off to your grandma at home.

Day 3Olive Picking & Soap Workshop

The organic homemade breakfast that we’ll get to enjoy in the morning, will be followed by olive picking with the crew, learning to prepare harvest nets, and getting the olives ready for the mill. We will then learn how to make our personal natural cold method olive oil soaps using the herbs of our choice – so this is your moment to stock up on souvenirs. We’ll finish the day with a deliciously prepared farm-to-table dinner with views on the Greek countryside.

We’ll then continue on a guided tour of the “Granafei” underground oil mill. We’ll enjoy our afternoon exploring Otranto on a cultural walking tour after which we’ll go on an excursion to a bauxite quarry. We end our day in Lecce with a wonderful dinner.

Day 4Visit an organic olive oil mill

The fourth day is characterized by a guided tour of the olive mill and olive oil tasting with toasted bread. We will then have lunch at the local tavern where we’ll use our freshly made olive oil in our dishes. Our day continues with an educational tour of the olive oil in Sparta, where we’ll learn about olive oil making in the last 5000 years. Now you’ve officially become an olive oil expert – it’s time to head back to the eco-farm for another farm-to-fork meal prepared with the fresh veggies from our garden.

Day 5Time to say goodbye

In order to say goodbye to our Greek farm-to-table trip, we immerse ourselves one last time into the organically prepared dished harvested from the eco-farm. Our local team and chefs will answer all your last questions, we’ll take a quick group selfie – and then it’s time to say goodbye to Eumelia.
