Travelling the country that gave us pizza and pasta is a must. Especially, when you get to explore foodies-heaven, all the way down in the heel of Italy: the beautiful region of Puglia.
The highlight of this area? Seeing the beautiful Trulli-houses in Alberobello and experiencing the relaxed lifestyle in authentic towns such as the white-washed Ostuni. And then we haven’t even mentioned the food yet.
During our 5-day culinary vacation through Puglia, we’ll be guided by local food & wine experts who will tell us stories about change, innovation and the local cuisine.
We will meet expert local chefs and foodies from the region who will share their secrets to ancient typical Puglia recipes. Oh, and we’ll visit a lot of local farmers markets – where we’ll get a feel for the real Italian way of life.
We’re not just taking you to the big cooking academies, but we value real experiences. Expect to get a cooking lesson from your old Italian nonna, to learn how to make your own mozzarella and to taste different wines from local family-run wineries. We are going to explore the real Italian lifestyle and culinary habits – which starts with an espresso and croissant every morning.

Welcome to Puglia – We’ll meet you in Lecce where we’ll check in to our hotel to start our food tour in Italy. The afternoon will be focused on getting to know each other, discovering the alleyways of this beautiful town and resting in preparation for our culinary adventure.
We’ll continue our cooking vacation with a pizza-making cooking class where you’ll learn the skills from our Italian master Angelo. This activity is heaven for every pizza lover out there and we’ll get to eat our own creations afterwards.
After recuperating from our exquisite meal, we’ll continue on a culinary walking tour around the old town, tasting the traditional recipes of this area accompanied by interesting stories and historical explanations. Our evening will be devoted to wine tasting and dinner – welcome to the Italian way of living.
We’ll get off to an early start at a traditional home cooking class in a private castle in Sternatia. Our local chef will tell you about fresh Italian ingredients and traditional ways to prepare them.
We’ll then continue on a guided tour of the “Granafei” underground oil mill. We’ll enjoy our afternoon exploring Otranto on a cultural walking tour after which we’ll go on an excursion to a bauxite quarry. We end our day in Lecce with a wonderful dinner.
We’ll bid “Arrivederci Lecce” in the morning and drive to Alberobello for a cultural tour where we’ll get to know its famous Trullo. Afterwards, we’ll visit a cheese factory and enjoy a mozzarella demonstration followed by a light lunch.
In the afternoon we’ll refresh with an olive oil tasting session in Ostuni after which we’ll summarize our day over an Italian dinner in one of our favourite restaurants in Ostuni.
We’ll start our last day of this magnificent food experience with a guided tour of a traditional farm, where we’ll also take part in our last cooking lesson learning about the farm-to-table method. Our cooking session is followed by a farewell lunch surrounded by the beautiful scenery.
From here we’ll have a transfer to Brindisi Airport where we’ll bid – Arrivederci Puglia!
